I know it when i see it.

Some people say the phrase “civil rights” is vague—that it’s so general and overly broad that it’s essentially meaningless.  But that’s probably because they’ve never had their civil rights violated.  Because if you—like me—have had your civil rights violated, then you know exactly what the phrase means.

There’s nothing vague about being called a nigger.  There’s nothing broad or theoretical about being punched and beaten by the police.  Or being subjected to an unlawful search and seizure by a federal agent.  Or, heaven forbid, learning that a friend or family member on has been killed by a police officer who, of course, is now contending that your loved one “posed a threat” and, so, deadly force was warranted.  If you’ve had to endure one of those types of situations and experienced that kind of trauma, then you know quite specifically what the phrase “civil rights” means.

I’m here to help.  If you or a loved one believe that you’ve experienced a civil rights violation and want to discuss what legal recourse you might have, please give me a call and let’s discuss your options.
