WE'RE HERE TO HELP.

For the first time in our country’s history, we had a sitting president visit a federal prison.  And President Obama saw the same thing that I always saw when I visited federal detention centers:  too many black and brown faces.  Many of them over-charged, under-represented, and serving mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent crimes that those who are “more privileged” likely wouldn't have been charged with in the first place.  And, of course, many of them were wrongly accused in the first place.
